1️⃣ Oregon is the first state to approve a new congressional map following the 2020 Census. The state gains one congressional seat, along with Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, and Montana.
🏛 The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs heard from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Fed Chair Jerome Powell on Tuesday about how their institutions are fighting Covid. Yellen also took the opportunity to warn Congress about the catastrophe that’s coming if they fail to raise the debt limit before October 18th.

- Pfizer and BioNTech submitted data to the FDA from their Phase 2/3 trial testing the vaccine on kids 5-12. It’s looking good for the littles!
- Covid pills! There are at least three antivirals being tested right now to help treat and prevent Covid. Results could be out before the end of the year.
- Japan is lifting Covid restrictions after about six months of strict lockdown. As of Thursday, the country will no longer be in a state of emergency and people can (slowly) come out to play.
- The Vatican will require all employees to show proof of a Covid vaccine or a negative test starting on October 1.
