The Kremlin Papers: Fact or Fiction?

New leaked documents appear to show the Russian government throwing their weight behind former President Trump’s campaign in 2016. President Vladmir Putin authorized a spy operation to support what he called a “mentally unstable” Donald Trump because of a belief that Trump would be good for Russian objectives.

These papers were published by “The Guardian” and appear to have Putin’s signatures from a meeting on January 22, 2016 when the former President was already the frontrunner for the Republican nomination. The document calls Trump “perspektivny,” which is Russian for “most promising candidate.” It goes on to describe him as “impulsive, mentally unstable and unbalanced individual who suffers from an inferiority complex” and refers to “certain events” happening during Trump’s visits to Russia.

The Kremlin did not confirm or deny the authenticity of the documents but the papers do seem to, “set out a route map for what actually happened in 2016.”
